Bessie Mae Durham

Bessie ?Bess? Mae Burnette Durham, 98, widow of W. Truman Durham, died Monday, November 19, 2007 at Westside Living Center. Born in Madison County, GA., she was the daughter of the late John B. and Martha Abercrombie Burnette. Mrs. Durham was the retired owner of W.T. Durham Grocery Store and a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Jerry Holz of Easley, Gail Arrowood and her husband, Lee Roy, of Cumming, GA.; four grandchildren, Lisa Stone and her husband, Allen, of Piedmont, Kay Breland of Tampa, FL., Darin Arrowood of Atlanta, GA., Dennis Arrowood and his wife, Angie, of Sugar Hill, GA; and six great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Pendleton Street Baptist Church, Chest of Joash, 1100 S. Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at Noon in the downtown chapel. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Jerry Holz, 504 Clarendon Drive, Easley.
