Bessie Mae Sanford

November 17, 1920 - November 9, 2005
Bessie Mae Ramey Sanford, 84, of 4 Janice Court, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 09, 2005. Born in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Marion and Lillie Belle Ingram Ramey and wife of the late Newell ?Doc? Sanford. Mrs. Sanford retired from St. Francis Hospital and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church where she was a teacher of the Dorcus Class and a member of Golden Zest. Surviving are a daughter, Judy Gilstrap and husband Bob, of Greenville; a granddaughter, Melissa Crowe and husband Guy, of Greenville; three great grandchildren, Lauren Hunter West, Tristan Crowe and Cheyenne Crowe all of Greenville; and a step great granddaughter, Jama Crowe, of Travelers Rest. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Clifford Gilstrap. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Services will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Honorary pallbearers will be the Dorcus Sunday School Class of Welcome Baptist Church and Parker High School Class of 1938. Memorials may be made to Welcome Baptist Church Library Fund, 2730 Anderson Road, Greenville, SC 29611; Tremont Church of God Building Fund, 2854 New Easley Hwy, Greenville, SC 29611; or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. The family is at the residence.
