Bettie Sue Lipscomb Brooks, 77, of 7 Flamingo Dr., Greenville died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at her residence. Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Norwood Lipscomb, Sr. and Zadie Belle Hendrix Lipscomb. Mrs. Brooks was a graduate of Greenville High School and Draughns Business College. Prior to her retirement, she was head teller for 20 years at Bank of America, Augusta Rd. Branch. She was a member of East Park Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Fred C. Brooks, of the home; two daughters, Linda Cranford, of Matthews, NC, and Pamela Flowers, of Omaha, Nebraska; son, Chris Brooks, of Lowell, Arkansas; sister, Mildred Lawrence, of the home; and six grandchildren, Drew, Hannah, Pierce, Justin, Peyton, and Ryan. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Lipscomb, Jr. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 3:00 pm in the Downtown Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, with visitation prior to the service from 1:45 pm until 2:45 pm. Interment to follow the service in Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Park Baptist Church, 12 Ebaugh Ave., Greenville, SC 29607 or the Alzheimer's Association, Upstate SC Chapter, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 29601. The family is at the residence, 7 Flamingo Dr., Greenville, SC 29609.
