Betty Gene Arnold Shockley

Betty Gene Arnold Shockley, 67, of 422 West Avenue, widow of Donnie Lee Shockley, died Thursday, August 21, 2008 at her residence. Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Arnold and Ruth Fant Cater. Mrs. Shockley was a member of Three and Twenty Baptist Church and a homemaker. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Perry Moore of Greenville, Angela and Paul Morris of Easley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and JoLynn Shockley of Liberty, Scottie, Sr. and Beth Shockley of Greenville; grandchildren, Michelle, Daniel, Douglas, Rebecca, Heather, Scottie, Jr., Ashley, Angel, Michael, Melissa and Lance; great grandchildren, Makinlyn, Jordan, Allissa, Xander, Madison and future Covington baby; three sisters and two brothers. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Shockley and a brother. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 pm. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Berea First Baptist Church Cemetery.
