Betty Jo Blackwell

Betty Jo Blackwell, 76, widow of David Garrison Blackwell, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health. Mrs. Blackwell was born in Greenville County and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Sarah M. Cox. She attended North Greenville Academy and Bob Jones University. Mrs. Blackwell was a homemaker and former piano teacher. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Danny Blackwell of Travelers Rest, and Patrick Blackwell and his wife, Robin, of Greenville; and a daughter, Ginger B. Cox and her husband, James of Greer. Mrs. Blackwell is also survived by five grandchildren, Megan, Daniel and Mitchell Blackwell of Greenville, Kelley Cox of Columbia and Michael Cox of Greer. In addition, she is survived by Louise and Bill Tripp, loving sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at New Liberty Baptist Church, Travelers Rest. The family is at the home of Patrick and Robin Blackwell, 3 Stream Run Court, Greenville, SC.
