Betty Lois Garren, 88, of Greenville, passed away, Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Born in Johnson City, TN, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Franklin Crowe and Sarah Virginia Smith Crowe.
For many years, Mrs. Garren worked in the cafeteria at Hampton Park Christian School and as a preschool teacher at Mountain Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and traveling.
She was devoted to her husband of 55 years and was a loving mother to her four children. She adored her nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was a member of Reedy River Baptist Church in Greenville, SC.
She is survived by a daughter, Becky G. Dean, of Greenville; three sons, Keith Garren (Darla), of West Virginia, Tony Garren (Lynn), of Ohio, and Tim Garren (Marge), of Nova Scotia, Canada; nine grandchildren, Joshua Garren, Justin Garren (Kara), Haley and Michael Dean, Emily, Elizabeth, Abby, Esther and Grace Garren; three great grandchildren, Audrey and Brady Garren, and Peyton Harley; two sisters, Venita Hathaway, and Dalene Bowman (Joe); and a special sister-in-law and friend, Barbara Garren.
In addition to her parents, and beloved husband, Wayman “Sid” Garren, she was preceded in death by three brothers; and her son-in-law, Mike Dean.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. A private family burial will follow.
