Billy “Bill” Andrew Franks

Billy “Bill” A. Franks, 87, beloved husband of 30 years to Ann Shetley Franks, of Keowee Key, Salem, SC, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, at his home after a long illness.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in the Air Police Division during the 1950’s. He was a retired commercial property manager, real estate broker, and tax accountant.

Bill was a member of Berea First Baptist Church where he served in past years as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a man of strong work ethic, family values and faith. He loved his family, his church and his Lord and Savior. He will be missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him and loving him.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Joleen and Danny Taylor; a stepdaughter, Bridget Preston and her husband, Scott Preston; stepson, Rick Ellison and his wife, Kelly Ellison; three wonderful grandchildren, Garrett Taylor, Brittney Preston, and Sean Preston; and one great grandchild, Jaidyn Taylor-Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Hall Franks; mother, Hester Franks; a son, Michael A. Franks; a granddaughter, Jessica Taylor; and two brothers, Paul Franks and James Franks.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery West.
