Billy “Eddie” Edward Davis, 61, beloved husband of Brenda Davis, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

Born in Williamston, SC, he was the son of the late Billy and Eileen Young Davis.

Having retired from Michelin, Eddie dedicated many years of his life to his work. He approached every task with determination and a free-spirited nature that brought a touch of his unique personality to everything he did.

Eddie was a man who lived life wide open. He embraced every day as an opportunity for adventure and self-expression. He had an extraordinary personality that drew people in and made them feel welcomed and accepted.

Eddie leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He was a wonderful husband, father, papa, and friend. In the hearts of those who knew him, Eddie will forever be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and his ability to bring joy to any room. He leaves behind a multitude of friends and loved ones who will carry his memory with them, cherishing the moments they shared.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by daughter, Leslie Phillips (David); step-daughter, Kaylan Tolley (Josh); step-son, Kenneth McGilvery (Tina); grandchildren, Boone and Bailey Phillips, Lilly Crawford, Nathan and Jaden Tolley, Ian, Bella, Cameron, and Layla Grace McGilvery; and mother-in-law, Doris Messer.

A private family service will be held.

My heartfelt condolences to Brenda and family. I'll always remember Eddie for his contagious smile and personality. Sammy Dale & I spent some good evenings singing and dancing with the two of you. We even shared the same anniversary month and year (one day apart). Prayers for Brenda and entire family as you adjust and heal from this devastating loss. I'm here for you Brenda. I’m so sorry for your loss. I went to elementary school with Eddie. He and I have the same exact birthday! He was always a sweet guy back in the day. I know you’ll miss him and cherish his memories.

My Michelin work partner and best friend...my brother forever. Thank you for the many years of laughs and memories. I will miss you forever my friend..

Eddie was my nephew. We also graduated together!! Life got in the way and we lost contact. But I remember he told everyone the only reason he graduated was because I either did his work for him or let him cheat off my paper!!! I know my brother Billy is rejoicing welcoming him home. That smile of his is ALWAYS what I will remember!! Love you Eddie!!!

I’m so sorry to hear of Eddie’s passing. I have fond memories with Eddie from the 4th grade and then as teenagers. He was always fun to be around. My favorite memory of Eddie is going to his high school prom together. We went as friends and had the best time together like friends should have. I will always remember smiling whenever he was around or when we were hanging out. He was always so much fun. I will be thinking about his family during this very difficult time.
