Bob Charles Greenlee, 90, devoted husband of 64 years to the late Pansy Greene Greenlee, died Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Born in Spruce Pine, NC, he was the son of the late Landon and Mabel Queen Greenlee.
He proudly served in the United States Army, had a long career with IBM, and was a dedicated member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church since 1962. After their children were grown, Bob and Pansy loved to travel the world together, from ziplining in Costa Rica to climbing the Eiffel Tower. Even later into their years, they would make time to travel and see the occasional Chicago Cubs game, his favorite team.
Bob’s legacy will continue on in the hearts of his three children, Lila Boynton and husband, Jim, Phillip Greenlee and wife, Janice, and Teresa Suttles and husband, Joe. Bob was known as “Pa” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His grandchildren are Daniel Dickson, and wife, Leigh, Halen Dickson and wife, Kaitlin, Tyler Barton, Patrick Boynton, Stephen Boynton and wife, Erin, and Jessica Rodriguez and husband, Angel. His nine great-grandchildren are Gabriel and Michael Dickson, Astrid Haynie and Aria Dickson, Cameron, Kyle, and Benjamin Mayfield, Violet Ibarra, and Cruz Rodriguez. Bob is also survived by three loving sisters, Marian McNeill, Jean Dale, and Alice Cox.
In addition to his parents and his loving wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ed Greenlee, and his brothers-in-law, Scott McNeill, John Dale, and Clark Cox.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Hampton Heights Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Gene Ownbey. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
