Bobby Joe “Bob” Garrison

Bobby Joe ?Bob? Garrison, 73, of 700 Heritage Club Drive, formerly of Piedmont Golf Course Road, husband of Barbara Shook Garrison, died Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the VA Medical Center, Augusta, GA. Born in Liberty, he was the son of the late Harold and Adele Porter Garrison. Mr. Garrison retired from St. Francis Hospital in 1985. During this time he served two terms as President of the S.C. Hospital Association. He later formed his own business, Garrison Building Services. He was a member of Lee Road United Methodist Church. He was a former member of Dunean United Methodist Church where he served as chairman of the Administrative Board for 25 years and was active in all phases of the church family. He was also a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict as an Airborne Ranger. After his discharge from the U.S. Army, he moved to the Welcome Community in Greenville, where he formed and organized the Welcome Little League program. He coached baseball and football and continued coaching ?his boys? into the Carolina High School Program. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 54 years, are a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Mark Lambrecht of Greenville; three grandchildren, Brad Lambrecht and his wife Tonya of Greer, Melanie and Megan Lambrecht both of Greenville; two great grandsons, Peyton and Andrew Lambrecht both of Greer; and a sister, Elizabeth Ballew of Greenville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Jimmy Garrison. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lee Road United Methodist Church Organ Fund, 1377 E. Lee Road, Taylors, SC 29687. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2006 from 6:00 until 7:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 10:30 am in the chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence.
