I am so thankful that your family can now have some closure for your loved one who paid the ultimate sacrifice at Pearl Harbor. I would love to have paid my respects at the service, but I was out of town. I did call the mortuary for them to offer my condolences.
My father, Luther Owen was at Pearl Harbor as well. He was a cook on the USS MacDonough, a destroyer, which was docked in the harbor at the time of the attack. After seeing all the pictures & film footage over the years and hearing my Father talk about it, it must have been devastating.
My Father passed away in 2004 at the age of 83 of a heart attack...he suffered many years with heart disease. He would now be 98.
When God calls our loved ones home, He leaves the gift of memories for us to cherish. I hope there are special memories of Mr Dorr that you all can share with each other.
My thoughts & prayers are with your family... God's blessings.

Brittany, I'm sorry, when I posted this I didn't realize there were so many Charlie's on the Dorr side. My great grandfather was Charlie Ansel Dorr. Carl was my 4th cousin.
Was driving past the procession and new someone special was being celebrated today. We would like to thank your family and you for having served in our US Navy. My father would be 94 right now. My father served in the US Army Airforce and our son served as a Fire Controlman on the USS way city. Joey was commended for having fought the largest fire aboard a ship in the past 20 years. They survived!!! Amen. Thanks to all that serve to protect our beautiful country and again “Thank you” our prayers to you are lifted to Heaven!!
Thank you for your service to our country. Welcome home, sailor! Peace be with you.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Condolences to all the family. We at Donaldson Center Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9273 express our deepest sympathy and our heart felt gratitude for the service given by Comrade Dorr. Rest in peace Sailor and may God bless your family and May God bless America.
My great grandfather was Charlie Dorr. I know Carl is related but not quite sure how. I plan on being there for his service. Thank God he's finally coming home.
My heartfelt sympathy for the loss. When Jesus was on earth he demonstrated his ability to resurrect those who died. He will do so again on a global scale during his Kingdom reign. (Matthew 6:9,10) Soon, the tragedy of war will be no more and peace will fill the earth. (Psalms 37:11) May these promises from God give you peace now and real hope for the future. Deepest sympathy.
Condolences to the entire family. May the sadness which you experience now be comforted by great fond memories. May the loyal love of Almighty God be with you all. Warm Christian Love!
Ruth's prayers answered. Can you imagine they are all together rejoicing!

My Grandmother prayed for this day. I will be there Uncle Carl.
So thankful that this family can now visit and honor the final resting place for their American Hero. I picked the gold candle to honor the Gold Star Mother of this sailor who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
