Brittany, I'm sorry, when I posted this I didn't realize there were so many Charlie's on the Dorr side. My great grandfather was Charlie Ansel Dorr. Carl was my 4th cousin.

Dear Family,

I am so thankful that your family can now have some closure for your loved one who paid the ultimate sacrifice at Pearl Harbor. I would love to have paid my respects at the service, but I was out of town. I did call the mortuary for them to offer my condolences.

My father, Luther Owen was at Pearl Harbor as well. He was a cook on the USS MacDonough, a destroyer, which was docked in the harbor at the time of the attack. After seeing all the pictures & film  footage over the years and hearing my Father talk about it, it must have been devastating.

My Father passed away in 2004 at the age of 83 of a heart attack...he suffered many years with heart disease. He would now  be 98.

When God calls our loved ones home, He leaves the gift of memories for us to cherish. I hope there are special memories of Mr Dorr that you all can share with each other.

My thoughts & prayers are with your family... God's blessings.

Sincerely,

Cathy O. Jollie

My heartfelt sympathy for the loss. When Jesus was on earth he demonstrated his ability to resurrect those who died. He will do so again on a global scale during his Kingdom reign. (Matthew 6:9,10) Soon, the tragedy of war will be no more and peace will fill the earth. (Psalms 37:11) May these promises from God give you peace now and real hope for the future. Deepest sympathy.
