Carmen Maria Martinez Alier, 77, of 421 Duncan Chapel Rd., Greenville, died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Santiago and Crispina Lugo Martinez. She worked in the NY City Garment District as a distributor and was a member of Iglesia Bautista de La Fe. Surviving are her husband, Luis Alfredo Alier; daughter, Lisel Alier of Pottstown, PA; three sons, Luis Alfredo Alier, Jr and wife Theresa of Lacey, WA, Luis Alberto Alier and wife Ivette of Reading, PA, and Arnold Alier and wife Peggy of Greenville; two sisters, Ana Maria Alier of New York, NY and Flora Maria Martinez of NY; brother, Brigido Martinez of Peñuelas, Puerto Rico; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Jonathan, Kenny, Kevin, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Katherine; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4:00 pm in the Downtown Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, with visitation following the service until 6:30 pm. Burial will be in M.J. ?Dolly? Cooper Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Iglesia Bautista de La Fe, 2129 Poinsett Hwy., Greenville, SC 29609. The family is at their respective homes.
