Carol Flanagan Guzik

Carol Flanagan Guzik, 78, wife of Thomas ‘Tom’ Guzik, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

Born in Wilmington, DE on May 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late J. Becker Flanagan and Kit Callahan Flanagan.

In addition to her loving husband of 55 years, Tom, she is also survived by sons, T.J. (Linda) and Peter (Patty); and four granddaughters.

Carol and her husband shared a wonderful life together. They lived in Talleyville, DE from 1966 until 1978, then moved to Racine, WI before settling in Taylors, SC in 1980. She enjoyed every part of being a mother and being able to stay home with her boys in their early years.

While living in Delaware, she worked for E.I. Dupont Experimental Station. In Greenville, SC, she worked for Pebble Creek Golf Accounting Section, and she worked for the property owners at the Cliffs Community. She enjoyed volunteering for various organizations, including The Talleyville Fire Company Ladies Auxillary, Talleyville DE, Our Lady of the Rosary School, Greenville, SC and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, Greenville, SC.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, playing bridge and walking. Carol’s greatest joy came from her family and the love she had for them. Her presence will be missed by all that loved and knew her.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the funeral Mass in celebration of life following at 10:30 a.m. A private burial will be held in M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
