Carolyn Virginia Alexander was gently called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 28, 2024, in the comfort of her home with her devoted husband Bob by her side.
Born in Piedmont, SC, she was the daughter of the late William “Willie” and Helen Black Davis.
Carolyn was a lifetime member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church, where she played softball and basketball. She graduated from Wren High School, Class of 1965, where she was a cheerleader; after high school, Carolyn married and was blessed with a son, Shawn Jenkins.
Carolyn dedicated over 30 years of service at the former Package Supply and Equipment Company as an Administrative Assistant and was later promoted to General Manager at the former Daniels Scientific of Greenville.
Carolyn was known for her outgoing nature and welcoming spirit; she never met a stranger. Carolyn had an undeniable presence that lit up any room.
Throughout her life, Carolyn always prioritized her family above all else. She cherished her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, making lasting memories and sharing laughter with loved ones.
She met her beloved husband, Bob Alexander, when their kids played little league baseball and later reconnected at when one of their best friends had passed away. They shared seven years together and were married in July 2023. Their love was a testament to the enduring power of love and companionship.
In her spare time, she loved antiquing and shopping, hobbies that brought her much joy. Most of all, family was everything to Carolyn. She enjoyed celebrating with others and hosting her family at Christmas. She lived a life filled with love, joy, and devotion to her family and faith.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by son Shawn Jenkins (Joy); nephew, Chad Reid (Janet); niece, Stephanie “Pepe” Edwards(Tripp); grandson, James Seth Jenkins; great-niece, Lyndi Reid; great-nephew, Cotes Reid; and sister-in-law, Dot Roberts Davis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Lynda Reid; and brother, William “Billy” Henry Davis, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain Springs Baptist Church.
