Catherine Bogan Burdette

April 7, 1916 - May 12, 2006
Catherine Bogan Burdette, precious mother, went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 12, 2006. Born in Glendale, she was a daughter of the late Jess and Lavada Allen Bogan and widow of David L. Burdette, Sr. She was a homemaker and member of Agnew Road Church of God, where she served as pianist for over 20 years. The family would like to thank the staff of Pardee Hospital, Four Seasons Hospice and a special daughter-in-law, Ruth, and a faithful and loving companion/Chihuahua, Poco, for the care and companionship that they gave to Mrs. Burdette. Surviving are three daughters, Dolores Cameron and husband Carol of Stafford, VA, Mary Jo Johnson and husband Bobby Joe of Slater and Sandra Long and husband Tommy of Fayetteville, NC; two sons, David L. Burdette, Jr. of Easley, Floyd Burdette and wife Ruth of Travelers Rest; four brothers, Hudon, Harold and Lorantz Bogan all of Spartanburg and Larry Bogan of Woodruff; two sisters, Helen Kelly of Taylors and Cornelia Key of Spartanburg; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter, Sybil Brown; son, C. Jeffrey Burdette; brother, Jess Bogan, Jr.; and sister, Geraldine Cox. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday at Agnew Road Church of God, with visitation prior to the service from 10:00 am until 11:45 am. Interment to follow services in Graceland Cemetery West. Memorials may be made to Agnew Road Church of God Building Fund, 200 Agnew Rd., Greenville 29617 or Four Seasons Hospice, 571 S. Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731. The family is at their respective homes.
