Cecil Arvil Evans

January 8, 1923 - November 17, 2008
Cecil Arvil Evans, 85, of Piedmont, died Monday, November 17 at home. Born in Virginia, he was the son of Blueford and Naomi Franks Evans and husband of the late Helen Jones Evans. Mr. Evans served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and was a pipe fitter in the construction business. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Strickland of Greenville, Lorita Leslie of Lebanon, VA, and Kathy Evans of Piedmont; his sisters Loretta Anderson and Betty Vaughn of Piedmont and his brother B.A. Niles of Manchester, TN; six grandchildren and thirteen great-children. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sons Steve and Larry Evans, his sister Gaynell Royston and brother Beacher Evans. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, November 20 at 3:00 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will immediately follow the service.
