Cecile Cote Roy, 83 of The Summit Place Living Center, Simpsonville, died Friday, February 2, 2007. She formerly lived at 203 Garden Trail, Greenville. Born in Amesbury, Massachusetts, she was the wife of the late Donald Clifford Roy and the daughter of the late Alexander Joseph and Eva Vaillancourt Cote. Mrs. Roy was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and the co-founder and secretary/treasurer of Roy Metal Finishing Company. She and her husband were faithful supporters of St. Francis Hospital where she served as a volunteer with the Festival of Trees. Mrs.
Roy was a member of the Greenville Country Club, where she was active in the Ladies Golf Association. Surviving are one son, Clifford Donald Roy and wife Jane; one granddaughter, Emilie Roy Pazdan and husband John; one grandson, Alexander Alden Roy and wife Kimberly, all of Greenville; five great-grandchildren, Mary Bradley Pazdan, Susannah Manly Pazdan, John Samuel Pazdan, Isabelle Cote Roy and Eliza Bensinger Roy; two sisters; Rolande Cote Gagnon of Newberryport, MA, and Doris Cote Ouellett of Amesbury, MA; one brother, Francis Cote of Amesbury, MA and dear friend and caregiver, Kathy Lomax. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary?s Catholic Church on Monday, February 5, 2007 at noon, officiated by The Reverend Jay Scott Newman. Visitation will be prior to the Mass in Sacred Heart Hall at St. Mary?s Catholic Church from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Private entombment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Clyde M. Gaffney Mausoleum.
