Claude Edward Jr. Hughes, 66, of 28 Barker-Gillespie Drive, died Friday, December 28, 2007, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Claude Edward, Sr. and Ella George Hughes. He was a self-employed truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is his wife Marie Lawson Belcher; a son, Mike Hughes of Piedmont; two grandchildren, Candice and Zack Hughes; four step-grandsons, Layton Anders, Scott McCoullough, and Chad and Corey White; three step granddaughters, Candiace White, Kara and Baylie Mills. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008, from 6:00 ? 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605.
