Claude Herman Bagwell, Sr

Claude Herman Bagwell, Sr., 90, died July 28, 2004 at Hospice House of the Upstate. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Joel Fred and Eva Jane Mull Bagwell and the widower of Reb Roach Bagwell. Before his retirement, he was a supervisor with Bahan Textiles. He attended Rutherford Road Baptist Church and was a member of the Hejaz Shrine, Monaghan Masonic Lodge. Surviving are two daughters, Louise Rabb of Taylors and Cynthia West of Greenville; three sons, Fred Bagwell of Mauldin, David Bagwell of Greenville and Herman Bagwell, Jr. of Spartanburg; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.; a sister, Doris Goldsmith of Travelers Rest and a brother, J.B. Bagwell of Taylors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC, 29621. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Friday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with burial in Graceland Cemetery, West. The family is at their respective homes.
