Claude Pat Jenkins

Claude Pat Jenkins, 86, widower of Sarah Ann Taylor Jenkins, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Hospice of the Upstate. Born in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Thomas Clemy and Clara Royster Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was a retired Captain with the City of Greenville Fire Department following 30 years of service. He was a member of White Oak Baptist Church and was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He was the owner of Pat's Tackle Shop in Greenville, was a member of the Hejaz Shrine, a member of the Walden Lodge #274, A.F.M. and was president of the Senior Golf Association. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald P. and Judy Jenkins of Pelzer; a granddaughter, Whitney Baur and her husband, John, of Uniontown , PA; a great grandson, Jamie Baur of Uniontown, PA; three sisters, Rebecca Wiggs, Tommie Davidson and Martha Hughes; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Debbie Jenkins of Mauldin; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Riddle; and two brothers, Denver and Parker Jenkins. Memorials may be made to the Hejaz Shriners, PO Box 667, Mauldin, SC 29662. Visitation will be held Friday, May 30, 2008 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
