Claude Robert ?Bob? Rogers, 72, of 600 Pine Log Ford Road, husband of Ruetta Tinsley Rogers, died Monday, July 3, 2006 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late John Robert and Beatrice Tucker Rogers. Mr. Rogers was the retired owner of Rogers Body Shop, Inc. and Rogers Auto Leasing. He was associated with NASCAR, having owned and operated Rogers Racing Team in the early 1980?s. He was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and was a United States Air Force Veteran. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Dana Rogers Williamson and her husband Billy Holcombe Williamson of Travelers Rest, Sherry Rogers Pace and her husband Michael A. Pace of Camden, SC.; a sister, Sharon R. Autrey of Powdersville; a brother, Stephen Rogers of Taylors; six grandchildren, Jessica Bourque, Claudia Williamson, Billie Marie Williamson, Shana Williamson, Lindsey Pace, and Jennings Pace; and one great grandchild, Zoe Bourque. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

I was an insurance adjuster in SC when Bob started the leasing business. Dealing with him was a pleasure. There was one instance I know of where a man had started a small business and leased a car from Bob. The business did not go well. It is doubtful
