Claude Wayne Rogers, 76, died on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Brighton Gardens. Born in Gordon County, GA., he was the son of the late Claude and Edith Ballew Rogers. Mr. Rogers was retired from Allison-Erwin Company. He was a member of Mauldin First Baptist Church and was a former member and deacon of Eastlan Baptist Church. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran. Surviving are two daughters, Jan Rogers Phillips of Mauldin, Kathryn Rogers Massey of Simpsonville; a son, David Wayne Rogers of Greenville; a sister, Christine Champion of Fairmount, GA.; three brothers, Ronnie Rogers of Calhoun, GA., Larry Rogers of Lawrenceville, GA., and Roy Rogers of Woodstock, GA.; five grandchildren, Jamie Leigh Prince, Dustin Jacob Massey, Justin Riley Phillips, James Denton Phillips, and Jared Cothran Phillips. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jewel Cothran Rogers, his second wife, Betty Cox Rogers, and a sister, Louise Morris. Memorials may be made to Mauldin First Baptist Church, 150 S. Main Street, Mauldin, SC 29662. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 1, 2006, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m., at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 2, 2006, at 1:30 p.m., at Mauldin First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Kathryn Massey, 4 Spring Tree Drive, Simpsonville.
