In the midst of our sadness, we praise God and give thanks for the life of a woman we were privileged to call beloved wife, cherished mother, devoted grandmother, and dear friend. On February 27, 2007, at the Elizabeth House, Flat Rock, NC, Claytie beheld the face of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Claytie, 81, born March 16, 1925 in Calhoun Falls, SC, was the daughter of the late John Gary and Lula Mae Watkins Loftis of Lowndesville, SC. She graduated from Lowndesville High School and Moller College in Atlanta, GA. She was a member of Fairfield Road Baptist Church, taught Sunday School, was a choir member and Circle member. She retired from Mac Shore Classic with thirty years of service. She will always be remembered for her smile and the love she gave to everyone. She loved her friends and family. Claytie is survived by her husband of sixty years, Ret. Master Sgt. Robert N. McNeill; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Joel and Elaine McNeill and their children, Robert and Christie and Ellery and Elizabeth McNeill, Nina and Bo, Avery, Eli and Sarah Coffey; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Bill Albert and their children Michael Whitmire, Chris and Amber Whitmire and baby Jackson McNeill Whitmire, and Nathan, Jeremy and Chris Albert; brothers and sisters, Joe Loftis, Billy and Jerri Loftis, Johnny Botts, Toby Thompson, Betty Sammons and Mary Ann Breedlove; brother and sister-in-law, Honorable Mayor Harold and Mildred Ann McNeill, Paul and Sandra McNeill, Libby and Robert Kimsey, Joann Botts, and Evelyn McNeill. Services will be held Thursday at the Chapel of Greenville Memorial Gardens at 3:00 pm with visitation form 1:45 ? 2:45 pm prior to the service at the chapel. The Rev. William Swink will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice & The Elizabeth House, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
