Cletus Herman Hatley

Cletus H. Hatley, 88, of Greenville, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Born in Stanley County, NC, he was a son of the late John and Lula Smith Hatley. Mr. Hatley served in the US Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He retired from Slater/Dunean Mill and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two sons, Joe Hatley and wife Janice of Greenville, and Tony Hatley and wife Tracy of Travelers Rest; a brother, Eddie Hatley and wife Abby, of Gold Hill, NC; a sister, Blanche Bassinger and husband Harold, of Salisbury, NC; two grandchildren, Andy Hatley of Roanoke, VA, and Merianne Scheidhauer and husband Alan of Greenville; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Catherine Finley Hatley; and a sister, Nola Flowe. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 1:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation from 11:30 am – 1:15 pm prior to the service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family is at their respective homes.
