Craig R. Blackshire “Poppy”, Sr. 76, husband of Frances Milwee Blackshire “BeeBee”, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jessie Bennett Blackshire.
Craig was a member of Woodside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and sunday school teacher. He was formally involved in the bus ministry at Westville Baptist Church. He was a lifelong avid Clemson Tiger fan.
In addition to his beloved wife of 56 years, he is survived by his son Craig Blackshire, Jr.; Daughters Missy Carter, Sherí Blackshire; grandsons Austin & Bennett Cochrane, Wyatt & Zach Carter; many beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; his beloved granddogs ChiChi, Charlotte Belle, and little buddy Buster.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joe Blackshire; and a sister Terri Ann Wines.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West.
