Dallas Wade Davis, 68, of 409 Mapleton Dr., Greenville, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville. His death occurred on the 47th wedding anniversary of he and his wife. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Wade Hampton and Myrtle Pittman Davis. Mr. Davis retired from the meat business as a supervisor for a local grocery chain. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, Greenville. Surviving are his wife, Martha Dean Davis; two daughters, Annette Davis Bennett and husband Jim and Allison Davis Wilder and husband Larry; one son, Earl Dean Davis and wife Trisha; four grandchildren, David James Bennett, Samuel Dean Bennett, Charles Payten Wilder, and Ella-Grace Davis; and mother-in-law, Lois Mahon Dean. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Buford Davis, and son, Dallas Wade Davis, Jr. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 pm in the Downtown Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, with visitation prior from noon until 1:15 pm. Interment to follow the service in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, 304 E. Camperdown Way, Greenville, SC 29601.
