David Edward Lynch

David Edward Lynch, 91, beloved husband of Virginia Lynch, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024.

Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Matthew Lynch and Emma Mahon Dill.

He was a member of Calvary First Baptist Church, a church he loved beyond measure. His dedication to his faith and love for his Lord was unwavering and apparent in all he did.

David was known for his strong work ethic and his deep love for his family. An outgoing individual, he never hesitated to strike up a conversation with his neighbors during his leisurely walks. Fishing brought him immense joy and relaxation in his spare time, and he reveled in the companionship of his loved ones during these moments.

A man of profound faith and enduring family values, David shared nearly 70 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Virginia. Together, they explored the beauty of both the mountains and the beach, creating cherished memories along the way.

David’s warmth and welcoming nature ensured that he never met a stranger, and he took great pleasure in gathering with family and friends.

He will be greatly missed but his legacy of faith, hard work, and devotion to family continue to inspire us all.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived son, Perry Lynch (Terry); daughter, Connie Lynch; grandson, Devin Lynch; sister, Evelyn Hembree; nephews, Don Hembree (Freda) and Pete Bailey; nieces, Lynn Justice and Peggy Atkins; and sister-in-law, Doris Tate.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Betty Wooten; and step-father, Otis Dill.

A visitation will be held Monday, April 15, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the graveside service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery West.
