David Gaston Cooper

April 1, 1946 - May 30, 2008
David Gaston Cooper, 62, died Friday, May 30, 2008. Born in Fort Mill, SC, he was the son of the late Ozzie and Bernice Allman Cooper. Mr. Cooper, before becoming disabled, was employed by Brissey's Body Shop and Buck Miller's Heavy Duty Towing Service. He was a member of Berea First Baptist Church, Sam Poe Masonic Lodge No. 284 A.F.M., Hejaz Air Squadron, a graduate of Palmetto High School and served in the US Army. Surviving is his wife of forty years, Nancy M. Cooper; a daughter, Allison Chamness and her husband, Tom; a son, Kevin Cooper and his wife, Lindsay; four grandchildren, Christoper and Caroline Chamness and Rylan and Addisyn Cooper; four sisters, Sara Davis, Joretta Black, Jane Hooper and Cheryl Hooper; one brother, Everette Cooper; brother-in-law, Bucky Miller and his wife, Rhonda; and niece, Morgan. He was predeceased by two brothers, Harris Dean Cooper and Ray "Bit" Cooper; a sister, Beth Ann Holbrook. Visitation will be Monday, June 2, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Berea First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family request that memorials be made in David's honor to Berea First Baptist Church, 529 Farr's Bridge Road, Greenville, SC 29611. The family will be at the residence.
