Deborah Collins Cunningham

Deborah Collins Cunningham, 78, wife of Raymond "Rick" Cunningham, died Thursday, March 14, 2013. Born January 30, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of the late Johnny B. and Dorothy Reynolds Collins. Mrs. Cunningham started her career as a Fashion Designer after attending The College of William and Mary, but later married and became a homemaker and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, an avid gardener and loved needlecraft. She served as president of the Sea Pines Garden Club and held various offices of the Junior League in Kingsport, TN, Birmingham, MI, Philadelphia, PA, and Hilton Head, SC. She was a Junior League Sustainer in Greenville. She was Vice President of John R & M Margrite Davis Foundation. She was a board member of the Bloomfield Hills, MI Village Club, a member of the Poinsett Club, Greenville, a Girl Scout Leader in Birmingham, a member of the DAR in Kingsport, TN, Birmingham, MI, Greenville, SC, Philadelphia, PA, and Hilton Head, SC and Greenville Womens Giving. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Deborah Susan Cunningham of Columbus, OH; a son, John R. Cunningham and wife Barbara of Coto de Caza, CA; a sister, Rebecca "Becky" Furste of Zionsville, IN and a brother, John B. Collins of Crawfordsville, IN; and grandchildren, Katherine C. Rigsby, William Bear Rigsby, Patrick R. Rigsby, Sydney M. Cunningham and John Colin Cunningham. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Six Oaks Cemetery in Sea Pines, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greenville Hospital Cancer Center, 701 Grove Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
