Dennis Blake Clark, 87, went home to the Lord Saturday, June 5, 2021 after a brief illness.
Born in Presque Isle, ME, he was the son of the late Merle and Pauline Baker Clark. He attended Columbia University and Pratt Institute earning Masters Degrees in architecture and city planning. He worked for Gruen Associates in NY, NY and retired from the Hillier Group in Princeton, NJ.
He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Sigrid, and their children: son, Paul Clark (Liane); two daughters, Susan Shipman (Peter) and Laura Bond (Christopher); 10 Grandchildren: Austin Clark, Gareth Clark, Challen Vollrath (Baylor), Noah Clark, Shane Clark, Emma Shipman, Laura Ringer (Isaac), Matthew Shipman, Cooper Bond, and Jackson Bond.
His dry sense of humor and patient demeanor will be missed by friends and family. Dennis will be remembered for his trust in the grace of Christ and his service to Calvary Lutheran Church, Verona, NJ and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Simpsonville, SC as an Elder and bible study leader.
The visitation will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. The interment will be in Graceland East Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Braille Ministry, 2820 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
