Dennis H. Edwards, 85, of Greenville, SC went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Norma LaNelle Bramlett Edwards. Born in Mt. Airy, NC, he was the son of the late Irwin Richard and Zoie Blanche Edwards. Mr. Edwards served as a Technical Sergeant in the Air Force during World War II. He was retired from Pet Dairy Inc., where he was employed as an accountant. Mr. Edwards was a member of Central Baptist Church in Greenville for over 50 years. He is currently a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors, where he was active in the Welmaker/Acker Sunday School class. He will be remembered as a loving husband and for the Christ-like example that he set for his children and grandchildren. Surviving in additional to his wife are one daughter, Brenda McConkey and husband Doug of Fountain Inn, SC; four sons, Dennis Edwards and wife, Joanne, of Springfield, VA, Jerry Edwards and wife, Mary of Greer, SC, Robert Edwards and wife Michelle, of Hendersonville, NC and Douglas Edwards and wife, Alicia of Greer, SC; three grand-daughters and eight grandsons. Mr. Edwards was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters, and is survived by two sisters, Aileen Badgett and Alma Snow, both of Mt. Airy, NC. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, January 8th at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 9th at Brushy Creek Baptist Church, Taylors, SC, with the Reverend Ralph Carter officiation. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park on Woodruff Road. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the members of the Welmaker/Acker Sunday School class and the Senoir Adult Ministry SAM of Brushy Creek Baptist Church for their faithful support and visitation. Mr. Edwards was one of my favorite Meals on Wheels clients. He was so pleasant and cheerful and had the sweetest smile. I somehow always got the feeling that this was a home full of love and peace. He gave me some figs from his yard and was so sorry that
