Dennis James Pegram, 50, of 101 Thompson Road, husband of Ina Carson Pegram, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 29, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Ina Carson Pegram; nine children ranging in age from 26 to 6, Joanie, Joshua, Audrey Beth, Bryce, Alana, Clark-Everett, Ethan, Lorin, and Ariana, all of the home; his parents, Joseph N. Pegram and Norma J. Smith, of Carlisle, Iowa; two brothers and a sister, Ben and Dan Pegram and Helen Burkhart, all of Des Moines, Iowa. When Dennis accepted Christ as his Savior as a child, he began a life of service for his Lord. His missions in life were to serve and bring glory to God and to lead his family to greater Christ-likeness. He constantly showed love for others by taking interest in their personal lives, and he was known for his practical compassion and kindness. A native of Carlisle, Iowa, Dennis graduated from Bob Jones University in 1977 with a degree in Business Administration and subsequently served on the staff at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia, as business manager. He returned to BJU where he earned a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. Dennis was named to Who?s Who in American Colleges and Universities and recently to Who?s Who in Religion. For the past 25 years, he served as financial administrator of Hampton Park Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. He was a past-president of the Palmetto Chapter of the National Association of Church Business Administrators and served on the Appalachian Council of Government?s Education Advisory Committee. Memorials may be made to the Hampton Park Baptist Church Piano Fund, 875 State Park Road, Greenville, SC 29609 or to Northland Camp and Conference Center Pioneer Village Expansion Project, W10085 Pike Plains Road, Dunbar, WI 54119. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 03, 2005, from 5:00 until 9:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 04, 2005, at 2:00 PM at Hampton Park Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home.
