Diane Spoone Wright, 70, loving wife of James Michael “Mike” Wright, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023.

Born in Oconee, she was the daughter of the late Bobby F. and Bonnie Martin Spoone. Mrs. Wright was formerly of Easley. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Diane was a loving mother and wife who was devoted to her family. She was everyone’s friend and did not meet a stranger. Diane was a hard worker and loved all animals, especially horses. She managed the family farm, Dove Hills Farms, for more than 35 years. During that time, she cared for over 30 horses and competed in multiple horse shows. Diane was also part owner and employee of Westside Quick Shop, Inc.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Christy Kellett (Robby); three sons, Bobby Shane Roach, Samuel Todd Ragsdale, and Michael Clinton Wright; grandchildren, Alex Whitted, Greyson Kellett, Austin Kellett, Calvin Kellett, Natalie Kellett, and Tanner Wright; and two brothers, Bobby Spoone, Jr. and Buddy Spoone.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by sister, Bobbie Ann Tulley, and brother, Mickey Spoone.

The family will be at the home of Ronnie and Cindy White, 167 Sugar Drive, Easley, SC 29640.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel, followed by burial in Graceland Cemetery West.

Dianne and I were cousins and one time when she came to visit, we went to a creek on our property. Bobbie Ann and Dianne got into a argument and she was pushed down on a rock and got a snake bite. It was not poison, we panicked but she stayed cool the whole time . That's the way she lived her life cool and handled anything that came her way.
