Dolores Davis Wickett, Ed.D., 81, of 101 Ramblewood Lane, widow of Robert M. Wickett, Sr., died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Detroit, MI., she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Veronica Balint Davis. Dolores received her Registered Nursing Degree from the Harper Hospital School of Nursing, her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Health Education from Wayne State University, and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. Prior to retiring in Greenville, she was Program Director for the Macomb County Health Department, Mt. Clemens, MI. As a member of the Harper Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, Sigma Theta Tau, Greenville Women?s Club, St. Mary?s Women?s Club, Guild of the Greenville Symphony, St. Ann?s Guild of St. Joseph?s Catholic School and St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Dolores lived life well. Family, friends, the arts, music, travel, learning and her faith gave her joy and fulfillment. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Schafer Gioia and her husband Nello Gioia of Greenville, Amy Beth Stinson and her husband Lt. Col. Greg Stinson of Springfield, VA.; three sons, Timothy John Wickett and his wife Barbara Ann of Albuquerque, NM., Robert M. Wickett, Jr. of Greenville, Daniel James Wickett of Piedmont; two brothers, Richard C. Davis and William F. Davis both of Anchorage, Alaska; ten grandchildren, Jake Thomas, Max Robert, Kevin Richard, and Kellie Ann Wickett, Elizabeth Theresa, Michael Patrick, Matthew Daniel, and Andrew David Stinson, Evan Thomas Schafer and Luca Aniello Gioia. She was preceded in death by a cherished son, Thomas Richard Wickett. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph?s Catholic School, 100 St. Joseph?s Drive, Greenville, SC 29607 or The Monastery of St. Clare, 1916 N. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Recitation of the Rosary will be held Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 6:00 PM with visitation to follow until 8:30 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 10, 2006 at 12:00 PM at St. Mary?s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Susan Gioia, 501 Wembley Road.
