Donald Carlos Roddy

Donald Carlos Mush Roddy, 85, widower of Thelma Lyle Roddy, died Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Richard M. Campbell VA Nursing Home. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late William and Ila Lovelace Roddy. Mr. Roddy was retired from J.P. Stevens, Dunean Plant, a member of the Judson Masonic Lodge, and was a veteran of the US Army and US Air Force, having served during WWII. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Beth Roddy of Greenville; four grandchildren, Tamatha, Tyler, Trevor and Tessa; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Iris, Gertrude, Mabel, Mary and Eloise, and four brothers, W.G. ?Hap?, James ?Peanut?, Tommy and Virgil. Memorials may be made to Richard M. Campbell VA Nursing Home, 4605 Belton Highway, Anderson, SC 29621. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be Tuesday night from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Walhalla. The family will be at 33 Smythe Avenue. Greenville.
