Donald O Chamberlain

Donald O. Chamberlain, Sr., 82, of 109 Westview East, husband of Barbara Taylor Chamberlain, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Biddeford, ME., he was the son of the late Walter and Laura Noel Chamberlain. Mr. Chamberlain was retired from Saco Lowell and was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church since 1960. He served during WWII in the 8th and 9th United States Army Air Forces and the United States Air Task Base Air Depot #1 from November 16, 1942 until February 1, 1946 in Warrington, England. He served as an Aircraft Mechanic and Hydraulics Specialist for B-17?s and other aircrafts. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Dennis Chamberlain and his wife, Cecilia, of Greenville, James Chamberlain and his wife, Mary Beth, of Madison, AL., Don Chamberlain, Jr. and his wife, Veronica, of Scarborough, MA., Christopher Chamberlain of Greenville; two daughters, Joyce Andrus and her husband, Bruce, of Warner Robins, GA., Donna Longe and her husband, Patrick, of Glen Falls, NY.; a sister, Julie Ann Bell of Wildwood Crest, NJ.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Picher Chamberlain, a son, John Chamberlain and a sister, Ritha Greenwood. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Capital Campaign Fund, 3710 Augusta Road, Greenville, SC. or Poor Clares Monastery, 1916 N. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, March 23, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence.
