Doreen Eccleston Bull

November 27, 1924 - March 11, 2007
Doreen Eccleston Bull, 82, beloved wife of William Earl Bull of 11 Camelback Rd., died March 11, 2007 at home. Mrs. Bull was born November 27, 1924 in Detroit, MI to the late Alfred and Violet Eccleston. Her family moved to California when she was 8. She graduated from Vallejo High School in 1942 and worked at Mare Island Navy Yard. During World War II, she became a pilot and was a charter member of the Civil Air Patrol. She had also been accepted into the WASPS. In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Bull was also past president of Canterbury Hills Community Club, past president of Newcomers Alumnae Club, past member and officer of Beta Sigma Phi International Chapter, past member of Bon Ami?s Club, a member of Pebble Creek Club, as well as a long time member of several bridge clubs. Surviving in addition to her beloved husband of 61 years are a son, Ronald Bull and his wife, Beverly; a daughter, Patricia Brice and her husband, Robert; a sister, Marjorie Wharton and her husband, Robert of Napa, CA; four grandchildren, William A. Bull, Stephanie Leopard, Amanda Roberts, and Christopher Brice; and four great-grandchildren, David Leopard, Morgan Leopard, William Leopard, and Dylan Roberts. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Christopher Brice, William A. Bull, Dennis Bull, Bill Harvey, Robert League, and Tony Skatell. Memorials may be made to Winyah Hospice Care, 114 Hospital Drive, #B, Simpsonville, SC 29681. Words cannot express how much we will dearly miss our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and caretaker of her family and those in need. Doreen Bull captured the hearts of everyone who knew her. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Winyah Hospice, especially her nurse, Ann, and nurse?s aid, Angela, for their love, care and concern during this difficult time.
