Doris Elizabeth Williams Hollingsworth, 98, of Greenville went home to be with her Lord on February 20, 2022.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late J.B. and Evelyn Hemrick Williams.

Doris was a member of Berea Heights Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Berea Lions Club for 46 years, serving as past President and a past honor of Lioness of the Year. Doris was also inducted into the state South Carolina Lions Hall of Fame in 2017.

Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Hunter (Ronnie) and Glenda Argo; three grandchildren, Michael Etheredge (Terri), Julie Solesbee (Toby) and Preston Argo (Kristie); six great grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; one great, great granddaughter; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Allen Preston Hollingsworth; one son, Thomas Allen Hollingsworth; three brothers, Billy, Wallace and Larry Williams; and one sister, Jo Newton, as well as two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel followed by the Funeral Service at 5:30 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date at Springwood Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Lions and Lioness of Berea Lions Club.

The family is at the home of daughter Glenda Argo, 710 Hunts Bridge Rd. #40 in Greenville.

So sorry for your loss. She was one of the kindest people I have ever met. I attended Berea Heights Baptist Church with her and she was always so gracious and kind. She always remembered where I worked and would stop by to say hello. I know she will be greatly missed but what a grand reunion she must be having in Heaven! Psalm 116:15

Mickey & I were sad to hear of your Moms passing. As we discussed her a number of times, she must have been a remarkable woman. Please accept our condolences.

I have such fond memories of Mrs Hollingsworth as a teenager spending time with Carolyn and later with Doris as a member of The Berea Lioness and FW Poe Textile Heritage Society. She was a wonderful lady and it was a privilege to have known her. My prayers go up for you Carolyn & Glenda and your families. I ask for Gods peace for each of you. Good Bless.
