Doris Ellenburg Smith

December 19, 1927 - July 7, 2008
Doris "Dot" Marilyn Ellenburg Smith, 80, wife of the late Hubert Gaines "Smitty" Smith, died Monday, July 7, 2008.` Born in Seneca, she was a daughter of the late Claude Frank and Beulah Ables Ellenburg. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Survivng are two daughters, Sandra Lee Massey and her husband, Bud, and Susan Faith Merritt and Philip Lingerfelt; one son, Jerry Norton Smith and his wife, Beth; three grandchildren, Amie Proctor and husband, Billy Cooley, Jessica Merritt and Michael Hooper, and Kevin Smith; five sisters, Ethel McElveen, Ann Newton, Frances Sisk, Joyce Burkett, Janet Moore; and brother, Joe Ellenburg. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, 2007 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 9, 2007 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Greenville Memorial Gardens, Piedmont, SC. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605 or Southside Baptist Church, 28 Southside Circle, Piedmont, SC 29673 The family will be located at the residence, 11702 Anderson Road, Greenville.
