Dorothy M Pitts

Dorothy M. Pitts, 91, widow of Jim Watkins Pitts, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at NHC of Mauldin. Born in Laurens County, she was the daughter of the late Francis Marion and Samantha Brown Morris. Mrs. Pitts was a homemaker and a charter member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church and the Faith Sunday School class. She was also a charter member of the University Park Garden Club. Surviving are a daughter, Norma Pitts Greene and her husband, David, of Greenville; a son, Jim Marion Pitts and his wife, Trudy, of Charleston; three grandchildren, David Jefferson Greene, Jr., of Greenville, Thomas Marion Greene of Liberty, Angela Pitts Hillman of Columbia; ten great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Jim Watkins Pitts, Jr., three brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be held Friday, December 21, 2007 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at 2206 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville.
