Dorothy Steenback Auger

January 10, 1918 - December 29, 2007
Dorothy ?Dot? Steenback Auger, 89, of Greenville, formerly of Scranton, PA, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 29, 2007.
Born in Scranton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Clinton and Florence Missy Tierney Steenback and the widow of Dr. Wesley Auger.
Mrs. Auger was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Baltimore, MD. She attended Hope Presbyterian Church in Greenville. As a pastor?s wife, she dedicated her life, alongside her husband, in the ministry for over 60 years. They founded Calvary Baptist Church of Pompano Beach, FL, and Cornerstone and Christian School. After leaving Florida, they served in the ministry with Dr. Carl McIntire and evangelistic work throughout the world. Mrs. Auger received many awards, one latest being Woman of the Year presented by Women for Constitutional Change. Survivors are daughter, Tamara Pawlak and husband, Robert; two stepdaughters, Misty Desimpelaere and Heather Faraone; four step great grandchildren, all of MI; daughter, Penelope Thompson; three grandchildren, Ian Auger Thompson and wife Stephanie, Tierney Rupert and husband Scott, and Taralyn Thompson and the children?s father, Randy Thompson; two great grandchildren; brother, Willard Steenback of Orangeville, PA, many nieces and nephews of PA and SC; and a special friends, Hermie Marcelli; and the Hope Lady Fellowship of Hope Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Auger was predeceased by a sister and three brothers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be prior from 11:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Burial will be at Saluda Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Pacific Garden Mission, 1458 S. Canal St., Chicago, IL 60607, Attention: Flossy Unshackled.
