Edith Allison Cartee

August 17, 1927 - February 19, 2008
Edith Allison Cartee, 80, widow of Louie Edward Cartee, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Cannon Memorial Hospital. Born in Joe, NC, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Velma Norris Allison. Mrs. Cartee was retired from Ingles and a member of Hilltop Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Shelia Pearson, Sandy Anderson and Christie Cartee Holcomb; six grandchildren, Travis Pearson, Stacey Stowe, Dee Dee Couch, Shannon Pressley, Lori Durham and Timothy Joner; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Allison and J.D. Allison; a sister, Marie Allison Case and a beloved friend, Janice Kowalewski. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 24, 2008 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. with the service to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Hilltop Avenue Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Youth Fund of Hilltop Avenue Baptist Church, 111 Hilltop Avenue, Greenville, SC 29609.
