Edmund Osborne Seagrave

Mr. Edmund Osborne Seagrave, III, 65 of 6 Paris Pointe Dr., Greenville died Friday at his residence. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 13, 1940, he was the son of the late Edmund ?Sig? O. Seagrave, II and Elsie Teter Seagrave. In 1973, he married Suzanne Seagrave, daughter of Iva R. Turner and the late James C. Turner. Also surviving are brother and sister-in-law RJ and Mary Mitchell Turner and nephew TJ Turner. Mr. Seagrave served his country in the US Air Force. After graduating from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, he served as Operations Manager of Jorgensen Auditorium at the University of Connecticut from the late 1960?s until July of 1989. He then moved to Greenville in August of 1989 and became General Manager of the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, where he retired in 1994. Ed brought to South Carolina his love of gardening and his little British Cars. He and his wife Suzy were so fortunate to have met so many fine people here and to have shared so many wonderful times. He will be missed greatly and remembered lovingly by his wife, friends, and family in Connecticut and all of the Southeast. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 8:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, with visitation prior beginning at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to his wife, Suzanne Turner Seagrave, 6 Paris Pointe Dr., Greenville, SC 29609, which will be donated to Ed?s favorite organizations and charities.
