Edna Mae Coggins

March 17, 1926 - May 18, 2008
Edna Coggins, 82, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late George R. and Ruth Cresswell Ferguson and widow of James Dewey Coggins. Mrs. Coggins was organist for 65 years and secretary for Cherrydale Church formerly Morgan Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a lifetime member. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Coggins, of the home, and Lynda Coggins of Tampa, FL; a son, James Coggins and wife, Leslie, and their children, Caitlin, Lora, and Daniel, of Chelmsford, MA. Also surviving are four brothers, Richard Ferguson, Alvin Ferguson, David Ferguson and wife, Helen, and Randall Ferguson and wife, Ruth. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Coggins, and a sister, Mozelle Hammett. Visitation will be held Monday, May 19, 2008, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Downtown. Services will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 3:00 pm, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland West Cemetery. The family will be at the residence. Memorials may be made to Cherrydale Church Building Fund, 2300 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, SC 29609.
