Edward James Devine

Edward James Devine, 76, of 202 Honeyhorn Drive, husband of Joan Harrington Devine, died Sunday, January 7, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Philadelphia, PA., he was a son of the late Patrick and Rose Devine. Mr. Devine was the founder and retired president of DHM Adhesives. A US Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War, he was a long time member and avid golfer at Holly Tree Country Club. Mr. Devine also supported the North Carolina Baptist Children?s Home for many years. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Patrice Devine of Simpsonville; three sons, Edward Devine Wendy of Mount Holly, N.C., Matthew Devine Heather of Greenville, Sean Devine of Simpsonville; eight grandchildren; a sister, Peg Hastings; and four brothers, Joe, Jack, Robert and the Reverend Dan Devine. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Episcopal Church. Visitation will follow at the home of Matt and Heather Devine.
