Elaine Sweatman Yeargin, 75, wife of the late Donald Yeargin, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024.
Born in Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Norma Nunn Sweatman.
Elaine, alongside her beloved husband, operated a charming bed and breakfast, where they welcomed countless guests with open arms and gracious hospitality.
Known for her strong will and feisty spirit, Elaine approached life with determination and courage. Her quick wit and great sense of humor lit up every room she entered, bringing smiles to the faces of all who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to connect with others, making friends easily and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.
A lover of literature, Elaine found joy in the pages of books, particularly those penned by her favorite authors, Stephen King and Anne Rice. In addition to her literary pursuits, she found relaxation and fulfillment in the art of cross-stitch, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and attention to detail.
Above all, Elaine was a loving and compassionate soul, whose kindness knew no bounds. Her generosity touched the lives of many, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by daughter, Donna Zentmyer (Steve); son, Donald Grayson Yeargin (M.K.); grandchildren, Rebecca, Ian, and John Morey, and Alexander and Bryant Yeargin; sisters, Brenda Gregory and Mary Ann Rampey (James); and brother, Lewis Benjamin Sweatman, Jr.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Diane Sweatman; and brother-in-law, Hal Gregory.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest.
