Eleanor Dempsey Alexander

Eleanor B. Dempsey Alexander was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 24, 2007. Born in Oconee County on November 26, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Samuel L. and Lillian Bellotte Brewer. She was a seamstress and a homemaker and was a member of City View First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, V. Cleveland Dempsey and Walter Alexander. She is survived by her two sons, Robert Dempsey of Pacolet and Arthur ?Bo? Dempsey and his wife, Norma, of Taylors; a step-son, Charles ?Bill? Dempsey and his wife, Geneva, of Spartanburg; a brother, Arthur Brewer of Easley; fourteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Cottages at Brushy Creek Family Council, 101 Cottage Creek Circle, Greer, SC 29650 or to the charity of one?s choice. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 6:30 pm. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 28, 2007 at noon in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
