Ellen Virginia Walls Haberkam Mattison, 77, widower of Frank Peter Haberkam, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at McCall Hospice House. Born in Cocke County, TN, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Chessie Moss Walls. Mrs. Mattison was retired from Union Carbide/Kemet and a member of First Baptist Church, Conestee. Surviving are two sons, Carroll Michael Worrell, , James Hamilton Davenport; daughter-in-law, Patricia Worrell; four grandchildren, Carolyn Worrell Garrison, Ryan Worrell, Christopher Worrell, Shannon Thurston Henderson; two great grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Garrison; a sister, Berita "Buck" Walls; and two brothers, John and Joe Walls. Memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
