Elsa Largaespada

The sun rose for Elsa C. Largaespada on November 7, 1950 and it set on September 12, 2021. She was a graduate of Escuela Nacional de Enfermeria (National School of Nursing) in her birthplace, Managua, Nicaragua. She also attended the Colegio Asuncion, a catholic school, in her earlier years.

She was preceded by her parents, Cesar Vargas and Lidia Nororis. Elsa was the second oldest child of eleven children. She married Rodolfo F. Largaespada on June 18, 1975 and he survives.

Elsa was preceded in death by her parents, her oldest sister, Rosa, and her younger brothers, Anselmo and Roberto. Surviving are her sisters Ana, Fatima, Graciela, Lidia, Vilma and her brothers Oscar and Cesar.

Elsa was a family oriented wife and mother whom is also survived by her three beloved children, Rodolfo J., Raquel and Lydia. She was also proud of her other “children-in-law” Wesley, Yury, and Javier who, in turn, honored her with her six most treasured prizes, her grandchildren Amanda, Gabriel, Nathaniel, Luna, Matthew and Legend.

Aside from her academic and collegiate nursing degrees, Elsa learned and achieved many talents. She learned to be a prolific seamstress for her siblings and children, she knit quilts and outfits and even learned to bake cakes including her crowd favorite, Tres Leches (Three Milks) cake.

Her brothers and sisters described her as a rock, dependable, counselor, provider, protector, and even as their superhero mom. Elsa’s husband describes her as exemplary, honest, loving, caring and responsible.

The aforementioned sentiments are echoed through her children, family, friends, and pastors, Rene and Daisy at Redeemer Christian Church in Brooklyn, NY where she passionately served and achieved the highest appreciation of Excellence in Treasury and Administration for the Church Organization.

She was a person of small stature who carried herself with dignity and respect who will always be remembered and loved by the giant imprint that her persona left to those she called family, a friend, and a sister.

There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast, and the funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Following the service, the visitation will continue until 6:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 19th at 4:00 p.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Greer.

La precedieron sus padres, Cesar Vargas y Lidia Nororis. Elsa era la segunda hija mayor de once hermanos. Se casó con Rodolfo F. Largaespada el 18 de junio de 1975 y él sobrevive.

Elsa fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres, su hermana mayor, Rosa, y sus hermanos menores, Anselmo y Roberto. Sobreviven sus hermanas Ana, Fatima, Graciela, Lidia, Vilma y sus hermanos Oscar y Cesar.

Elsa era una esposa y madre orientada a la familia a quien también le sobreviven sus tres amados hijos, Rodolfo J., Raquel y Lydia. También estaba orgullosa de sus otros hijos-yernos Wesley, Yureikys y Javier quienes, a su vez, la honraron con sus seis premios más apreciados, sus nietos Amanda, Gabriel, Nathaniel, Luna, Matthew y Legend.

Aparte de sus títulos académicos y universitarios de enfermería, Elsa aprendió y logró muchos talentos. Aprendió a ser una costurera prolífica para sus hermanos e hijos, tejió edredones y atuendos e incluso aprendió a hornear pasteles, incluido su favorito de la multitud, el pastel Tres Leches.

Sus hermanos y hermanas la describen como una roca, confiable, consejera, proveedora, protectora e incluso como su madre superhéroe. El esposo de Elsa la describe como ejemplar, honesta, cariñosa y responsable.

Los sentimientos antes mencionados se hacen eco a través de sus hijos, familiares, amigos y pastores, Rene y Daisy en Redeemer Christian Church en Brooklyn, Nueva York, donde sirvió con pasión y logró la más alta apreciación de Excelencia en Tesorería y Administración para la Organización de la Iglesia.

Era una persona de baja estatura que se movía con dignidad, respeto y siempre será recordada y amada por la huella gigante que dejó su persona a los que llamó familia, amiga y hermana.

Habrá un horario de visitación el sábado 18 de septiembre de 2021 a partir de las 14:00 horas. hasta las 6:00 p.m. en Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, sureste, seguido del servicio funerario a las 3:00 p.m. Se llevará a cabo un servicio junto a la tumba el domingo 19 de septiembre a las 4:00 p.m. en Hillcrest Memorial Gardens en Greer.
