Elsie P. Blalock

Elsie P. Blalock, 73, of 8 Tulane Avenue, died on Thursday, July 6, 2006. Born in Kentucky she was a daughter of the late John and Mona Pernell. Mrs. Blalock was a loving mother and homemaker who always put children first. Surviving are her husband of fifty-six years, Samuel W. Blalock; a daughter, Nancy Lawson and husband John, of La Plata, MD; two brothers, Cecil Pernell and Fred Pernell, of Marion, IN; a sister, Avis Waterberry, of Oklahoma City, OK; four sisters-in-law, Pat Bell of Jefferson, GA, Dosia Rhinehart and Genevieve Boone both of Hendersonville, NC, and Hazel Pernell of Marion, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held on Saturday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest at 10:30 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 ? 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
